- Section 1 — Introduction to Nordic WalkingThis section introduces the foundations of Nordic Walking, including its definition, purpose, key benefits, and the core principles behind the training system. Students will also gain a clear understanding of the instructor’s role and responsibilities when working with beginner-level participants.4
- Section 2 — EquipmentThis section explains the essential equipment used in Nordic Walking. Students will learn how to select proper poles, straps, gloves, footwear, and clothing, as well as how to help beginners choose the right setup for safe and efficient training.4
- Section 3 — Biomechanics and TechniqueThis section covers the fundamental biomechanics and movement principles of Nordic Walking. Students will learn natural gait mechanics, pole positioning, body alignment, movement phases, the role of upper–lower body coordination, and how to recognize and correct common beginner errors.6
- Section 4 — Teaching MethodologyThis section focuses on how to teach Nordic Walking effectively. Students will learn how to structure a beginner’s first session, break down technical elements step-by-step, manage groups of different levels, communicate corrections clearly, and maintain safety during all training activities.5
- Section 5 — Training Structure and PlanningThis section teaches how to design complete Nordic Walking training sessions. Students will learn proper warm-up structure, key elements of the main workout, essential coordination and strength components, cool-down routines, and practical methods for tracking participant progress over time.5
- Section 6 — Practical Skills for InstructorsThis section focuses on the practical skills required to work with real beginners. Students will learn how to demonstrate movements clearly, provide hands-on corrections, identify individual limitations, adapt techniques for different fitness levels, and build confidence in new participants.5
- Section 7 — Safety and Professional StandardsThis section outlines the safety standards and professional responsibilities of a Nordic Walking instructor. Students will learn risk-management principles, essential safety checks before sessions, communication protocols, ethical guidelines, and how to maintain a professional environment while working with diverse participants.5
- Section 8 — Final Assessment and CertificationThis section includes the final assessment required to complete the Beginner-Level Nordic Walking Instructor Certification. Students will demonstrate understanding of safety standards, teaching methodology, biomechanics, and practical skills. Successful completion qualifies the student to receive a digital certificate issued by NWANA.3
